as curator

Yasmine Laraqui’s curatorial practice bridges local artistic discourse and the broader international art scene, exploring how visual languages circulate and transcend traditional notions of identity. From 2010 to 2014, she created and organized artist collectives, presenting the emerging scene in Casablanca, Paris, New York, and Marrakech. After dissolving these collectives, Laraqui was invited in 2016 by Venise Cadre in Casablanca to curate the group show Mastermind and a solo exhibition.

In 2017, she founded DASTHE ART SPACE, where she curated and organized over ten exhibitions, both on-site and online, gradually nurturing a community of artists. Notable solo and collaborative projects have included Sarah Amrani, Hicham Matini, Pepon Osorio, Damien Vignaux, Sepand Danesh, Nafie Benkrich, Laila Hida, and Mohamed Echair.

Laraqui’s approach emphasizes experimentation and critical engagement, creating platforms for dialogue between emerging and established voices. Through these projects, she investigates the mobility of images, the circulation of ideas, and the ways contemporary visual cultures can challenge and reshape conventional frameworks of identity and representation.
